What's all this talk of spanking? I'm hoping its some obscure reference to carb tuning and not that I have strayed onto the leather-men club of Canada..... David We meant spanking in every sense of the word.....dirty dirty spanking.....what would this world be without spanking? Ummm speaking of leather-men....didnt you see that pic of our club pres in leather? (Cant you tell I used to be shy?) ;D

I have received two mixed replies about the VCoT. The first was asking about what kind of support we will receive from main branch in B.C. The other was from a club that has been a part of the VCoC for years, and encourage others to join. These were from the Toronto Scooter Collective.

I think your answer to the first question is basically answered here at the forum.
As with anyone in the club, branch members in Toronto would receive "support" here on line. Questions answered, tech advice etc.
When it comes to rides and social type events, not much can be done from BC, and no one should expect it to. That would be up to branch members themselves.
Its really a case not of "what can the Vespa Club do for me out here", but "what can I do for the Vespa club out here".
The club does the same thing for all members. Really the "main" club serves to bring all scooterists in Canada together thru the forum, newsletter, and web site. It provides some merch, a few shop discounts, but for the most part, anything more needs to be provided locally.
The hope is that as we develop a strong club of strong branches, it will serve our stated perpose of "the promotion and preservation of Vespa in Canada."

Hey, I'll be ready this spring for rides and meets. Have you checked out the T.O. Vintage scooter club, They meet every dry Sunday at 1pm at Cafe Faema on Christie at Dupont. Might be worth checking out. The material you found is outdated. the TVSC does not meet weekly for a ride, you are thinking of the Toronto Scooter Network which is defunct. I believe the Tango Terriers meet almost weekly during the summer. D BETAscoot, Toronto Scooter Rally 2006... coming soon.

sorry, my mistake. You must be the guy to talk to about starting the T. chapter. What's your thoughts on starting a chapter. I think people are interested in it.

I think the number one thing to do is to Join the Vespa club of Canada yourself and then start a branch.

I am sure by the time the guys in Toronto will be start a Club branch that they will become Club members as well.
No pressure on those guys, please. I am glad to see somebody is taking the innitiative. The rest can be sorted out in time.
But in principal you guys are certainly right. Whoever starts a VCoC branch in Toronto should be a member of the Club. I thought that is a given, but might be worth mentioning.
Anyways, we still need some guys in Toronto to start a branch....Come on guys. You can do it!

Hahahaha....you are lucky this isnt 2005. I used to carry membership forms with me and pretty much force people to join.
Of course it is harder when you are so far away and this year I dont have an official role with the club, so I just help out where I can.
take care D
