Hi Big,
I don't think the 'Vespa Club of Canada' has a problem with you sharing this customer experience with us. The opinions expressed in this thread are from individual members.
I encourage you to post your opinion. That doesn't mean that I agree with you or some of the responses you received in this thread. You are entitled to your opinion and so are the others.
Trust me many of us have their own costomer service exeprience with Vespa Dealers. Some good and some not so good and a few are actually quite bad. Vespa Dealerships are not any different than other dealerships...and people working in the stores are sometimes questionable.
Don't get me wrong, I am not defending what happened in a particular case. I am just saying that problems with Dealerships and Importers happen. I wished everybody would get proper customer service...unfortunately I don't think it will happen. I hope that doesn't affect how anybody feels about riding their scooter.

I second that notion. I made no secret of the horrible customer service I received at the Vespa Store I dealt with (The Owner at that time no longer owns the store I might add). In any event, you didnt hear me trying to recruit the Vespa Club of Canada to show the CSC that we were 'watching'...that is just silly.
If you have issues with a certain Company, bring it up with them, if your service was bad, you have a right to say so...tell your friends, tell your family, post it if that turns your crank, but going on about it forever and asking for help and I quote "to call attention to this and demand a little accountability so that the Canadian Scooter Corp. knows you're out there, and the way they conduct themselves is being watched." from those not involved is not reasonable in my opinion.
So if individuals seem less than helpful, there should be no surprise in that, but that should not reflect on the Club as a whole....talk about lumping people together. Same as saying that everyone at CSC is a hothead or thug. Maybe someone was having a bad day, maybe they have someone that sucks at customer service.....doesnt mean they are all like that.
Ok....enough of that.....
Hey Wheels...dont you have a Kodak moment for this thread?

Big,
Perhaps I baited you by asking for the point of your post, but it just seems a little odd that it wasn't even your gripe to complain about.
Sorry but I misunderstood. I assumed when you wrote about your friends wanting to "upgrade the engine" that you had meant exactly that, literally "upgrade the engine". Just faulty communication. I have an ET2 (70cc) and a few times I've mused over the idea of dropping the ET4 (150cc) engine in it, but for all the work it would be it just wouldn't be worth it. Far easier to trade in my scooter.
Perhaps I don't quite understand the role that CSC plays in Toronto, which seems to be more then just the importer/distributer. I've had similar instances at NAPA and CanTire where their computers shows they have something in stock, but through theft or whatever they can't seem to find what I need. These things seem to be fairly common. You'ld think a scooter is big enough to keep track of, and they'ld want zero miles on the odometer for sales purposes, but shit happens. Fustrating I understand.
Being yelled at is unacceptable, in customer service or not. Forgive my scepticism, but for it to get to that point there has to be a series of events that leads up to such a thing. Yelling just doesn't happen out of the blue, soon as one walks in. It escalates to yelling. Unacceptable indeed, but not entirely one sided. The fustration is a shared experience. Perhaps, as we've seen in our conversation, it was an issue of poor communication. No need for communication to ever sink to yelling, insults or name-calling, yet so easy it does.
This is why I asked why you were posting and if you could explain yourself a little better. Don't insult me by asking me to read a little slower. That's just rude. It took you 3 postings in this thread to explain that your friends wanted to trade in their scooter for another one.

Personally I wouldn't bother upgrading an LX 50 Vespa, Better to sell it and then buy a bigger Vespa. Wished I'd won it, Maybe I'll win one tomorrow at "The Twisted Wheel Rally"Hope they get it all straightened out. Dave

The CSC (Canadian Scooter Corp) lost their distribution rights of Piaggio products in Canada, Sad in a way, Now all the dealers have to scramble to renew their distribution rights with Piaggio. Now where do I go to get warranty service on my GTS 250? Article over at CMG Online explains it all.
