Now that is interesting I haven't tried that! But I'm quite proficient in riding Scooters with no brakes! ;D

But didn't you "sort of" have a front brake when your rear cable let loose?
I went beetle shopping on the weekend. The owner mentioned that he was driving it the week before. I didn't even think about questioning about the brakes after that. After i reved it up in the alley to get a feel of the "power". I then found out how good the brakes were at the end. Nada. Not even the emergency brake worked. Engine brakeing with a 1200 was better than I thought it would have been.
[rant] So far every "Rust Free" beetle i have looked at has had holes i can fit my hand through. I mean, "Come on People". When your car has RUST, please DON'T put RUST FREE in your ad. [end rant]
