hello everyone, i have become addicted to these crazy vespas since my 3 month trip to greece where i "restored" my uncles 1979 px125. i put it in quotations because it wasnt really a restoration, mainly a cosmetic upgrade and get things working so i can ride it restoration anyway, now that i am back in edmonton i cant stop thinking about vespas. does anyone know where i can find a cheap used vespa? i would like it to be around 1980's... 79 ish... 125 or 200... but the kicker is cheap. im a student so i dont have 4k to blow on one, but i am more than willing to do a full restoration. if anyone knows where i can get something like this in edmonton or shipped to edmonton that would be awesome, any info would be greatly appreciated. heres a picture of my vespa in greece. dont laugh before: After: thanks chris

Good job....I think that you will soon discover that if there is a local cheap Vespa that any one knows about, it will a well kept secret until they can get their hands on it.... Good luck. Some deals are still out their. When they do become available the are snatched up very quickly and they usally go to the highest bidder.....keep your eyes peeled and money in hand...

oh don't give up that quickly....you just have to learn some new wrestling moves so that you can win when the next one becomes available....all great things (vespa's in this case) are worth the battle...

....and there is always a chance to find a Vespa in the For Sale section on this board or on our website: If you are looking for a bike feel free to put up your ad as well. Have you tried eBay or Craigslist yet? We ave members always keeping an eye on both and sometimes you see a thread in the For Sale section. Good Luck!

Putting an ad in is always a good idea. My last Vespa ($400. 62 VBB 150) came to me because of an ad on this site...never give up, the hunt is actually more than half the fun.

thanks for all the replies, its great! as far as my idea of cheap, it depends what condition etc... 1000 -1500 is probably ok, im looking for one that needs a lot of work, more of a project bike... i was looking at the store on white ave and they wanted 4600 for a p200 that was in rough shape... not bad but not mint... thats rediculously expensive

Chris, I know someone that might be interested in selling a P series in the 3000.00 range, but you can talk price with him if you are interested. The engine has been completely rebuilt, all the seals have been changed. The bike is apart right now, all the parts are there, he's just trying to decide what colour to paint it, and I believe the goal is to sell it after. This could be an Ideal option for you, as you could buy it now and painted it what colour that you are interested in....I know that he has alot of new rubber parts on route for the build up. Just think about it! Most of the work has been done already! If your interested you can email me and I will pass your phone number on to him. my email address is
buzzin_hornet64@yahoo.com

Well I should have said that some of the work is done. The motor is complete, throw it in when the scoot is put together and away you go. You still have to paint it and put it back together. To me that still alot of work, it's up to you. Let me know if you want the contact name and number.....oh and btw I get nothing out of this, expect putting 2 peeple together. Cheers
