Sunday July 9th - John Cabot park I am there, let us meet somewhere before and scoot in together.
Kelowna Can't make it this year, that is the weekend my wife is selling her pillows at the Art Walk, so I will be up to my eyeballs in kids.
Calgary I am posilutely, absotively going! I have booked time off from the salt mine. Let's do a quick head count and see how many scoots and what kind of vehicle we can get to haul them. It is just over a month away so we should get cracking. If we can't find a truck that is suitable, Kevin and I will take all day Friday and scoot down 2A. I hope Calgary is presenting an "IronButt" trophy, Kev and I would be shoe-ins.

Calgary,
I think we already might be able to do it without a big truck. Between Bruce and I we already have two trailers. Lets figure out how many scoots we can fit on them and see if they will fit out group. But we need an approx head count to see if we have enough room.
Next time i get out to the lake I'll take some measurements and figure out how many we can get on it.

Ok guys sounds good. Since discussions on trailers are in the works we should see if Frank will let us borrow his trailer. It fits 3 comfortably and I believe that the use of it has been offered in the past. I probably will be taking the Scooter hauler, so I can sit one body, and tons of supplies.
Jeff if you and Kevin decide to ride you may have another to join you. I talked to trevor last night and he is thinking of riding. His exact words " if it has wheels it wasn't meant to be hauled" hahaha
also I could drive the 2A a couple hrs after you guys leave in case you have troubles....
Just some heat / Iced cap induced thoughts. 32 degrees at my desk! Bloody hell!

I was doing some thinking about riding 2A down south. But as i ran the numbers, approx 60kph top speed plus frequent 4L gas stops, my average speed is going be more like 45/50 kph. Yikes, it's gonna be a long ride...
Jeff, what sort of speed are you aiming to sustain down the highway?

7 hrs each way baring any issues, and then riding all weekend? If you guys follow through on this you will earn my respect 10 times over........
....Ummm.....I might not want to follow you, considering we could make it to Calgary on a trailer in under 3hrs.... that's unless you leave 5 hrs before me!

8-)I'ld love to take 7hr.s+ to take the 2A or what-ever in the opposite direction sometime... just for the adventure of it. Not a priority of mine, but it sounds like a hell of alottafun!
Take as many Edmontonians as you can round up. We're hoping to be well-attended.

Hi Satterth Just tie a rope to the back of my ET, throw the allstate in neutral and I will give you a tow It is an allstate right? I don't know the old bikes very well yet. The skinny on long distance touring is that you almost never avg more than 45 mph over the long haul. Frequent stops for fuel, leg stretching and food really limit your time. I drove the ET to Saskatoon last year and my avg was almost bang on 45. Thought that was slow until I checked out some iron butt sites.
