I found these scooters on the side of the road in Keremeos on my ride to the Okanagan: The owner told me that he imported them from Indonesia. He runs a fruit and crafts store in Keremeos. He intends to bring in more scooters in another container next year. Looks like he was inspired by Johnny Beware. However this guy did not get them restored and painted. Looks like he buys them in Indonesia and sells them the way he found them. Therefore the price is relatively cheap and they might be a project for someone looking to restore a bike. The owner says one of the bike is a 1964 Vespa and the other 2 are from 1977. I didn't verify that. He is asking 1.200,- can-$ for the 1964 Vespa and 1.000,- can-$ for each of the 1977 Vespas. As a package he would sell all 3 for 3.000,- can-$. I believe however that you can still negotiate a better price if you are really interested. The bikes don't look in a very good shape. However they are not missing anything major and the side panels for all are there. Looks like some have been fixed with parts from other Vespas and other cycles. Roy, i'm new to these little scoots, but one from Asia would be the same kind of spec as the ones found here? In other words were these made different for different countries? are parts available relatively easy for these to restore?
Oh...one more thing, do most have a 100cc to 150cc 2s engine?
thanks

These Vespas are all originally built in Italy. I don't believe they were built for the Asian market.
Therefore they were the same as any other Vespa of the same type.
But please keep one thing in mind, they have been ridden in Indonesia for several decades...and there are some things visible that got modified over the time. Other things may not be as visible....and this is where you someone buying cheap bikes from Asia has to be careful.
I am far from being a specialist myself and would not consider any of these bikes without having someone with me who could give me some advice.
The bikes in Keremeos I would only suggest for someone who has restored Vespas before and may want to have a new project restoring them to their original beauty.
Having said this, the third bike, a Vespa Sprint (not showing on this picture) is in better shape and seems to have less modifications.
