How bad is the one that came with your pile'O GS? Is it really that far gone? I didn't take a good look at it.
You might want to have Jordi talk to his dad's friend in Quebec. This guy has restored a couple of old bikes (I know at least one GS150) and seems to have an AWESOME amount of NOS parts and maybe some used stuff too. he sells stuff on eBay all the time so it seems like he's not too attached to his bits.

I guess the door was left off the panel and water got in there...it's pitted pretty bad and even gone through in a couple spots (on the bottom)......i might have sourced one off the bbs for about $150, if it doesn't work out, I'll ask jordache......thanks for the heads up

are you sure it will take more than 150 (US? plus shipping?) in body work to fix the one you have? if it's just at the bottom of the cowl it's mostly flat there so it shouldn't be hard to add in some new metal...
but 150 for a straight GS cowl doesn't seem out of line

i was actually considering just mending the original one but the pitting goes all the way up the curved portion and the brackets are looking kinda rough too so unfortunatly I think it might be easier to just replace it...150 plus shipping isn't too bad......still need an engine for it so expecting to lay some $$ before it's done (cosidering grabbing a new motor from SCOOTrs)....hopefully before amerivespa..we'll see.

somebody scooped me in the last seconds this summer for a complete VS5 motor in Toronto...
it went for $505... *frick!*... my bid was $500...
I just wanted the cylinder shroud... that usually goes for around $150. but figured the spare motor would have come in handy... I could have switched them every time I got one of them to kind~a run... *lol*
