Hi Kara, hope it is OK if I post your picture with your P2 here. I think the scooter looks pretty cool. I like the crushed velvet idea. That's one nicely personalized scooter! Welcome to you and Speedy to the VCoC by the way. Cheers. Roy.

Does that stuff come off for rain riding or do you just let it get wet?
Welcome to the Club!

Thanks Roy!
Yup, I'm pretty proud of my purple velvet P200. It was a lot of work (almost all done by my buddy and scooter guru, Glen Beauchamp) to put it together but it was worth it as it looks fabulous.
It actually doesn't look quite as good now as when the picture was taken because I've put quite a lot of miles on it. It has been through several big rains, and was hauled (uncovered) on a trailer out to the east coast last summer (5000 km on the trailer) then we rode around Nova Scotia for another 1250 km. That combined with my general riding around Toronto and the region has faded the velvet a bit. The silicone spray has protected it from water and dirt, the sun has done the most damage by fading it so the purple isn't quite as vibrant. But I still think it looks great and it'll be a couple more years before it's ready for the next makeover.
Cheers, Kara
