David was supposed to work on my muffler this weekend and just called me. He was fixing his Bonneville bike this week when the chain blew up and blasted off, taking out his knee -- it was seriously shattered, with links embedding in him. He's had surgery and the prognosis is many weeks of rehab and healing. He's at home now, but obviously won't be at the rally this weekend. He'll be checking emails and such in coming days, but asked me to post a note tonight. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. -steff.

I talked to David today. I let him know that there are alot of people thinking about him. He sounded in pretty good spirits, and is optimistic.
