i was riding back from Bowen on Wednesday afternoon, i'd come across on Marine Dr. nice day, nice ride. i went over the Lion's Gate and was coming through the Stanley Park causeway at about 70km when the wheel locked and the bike shut down. it sucked. i ended up pushing my bike ('82 P200E) to the PNE, also sucked.
anyway, what did i do? can it be repaired or will i have to look for a new engine?
oh, i'd topped up the oil the day before.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if you had waited a few moments, then jumped up and down on the kick start if it had the standard barrel and piston it would have run again as long as you pulled in the clutch pretty quick when it nipped up! ive done what you did a few times, mostly up hill two up doing 80+ in third[yes its a stock p2] and i just pull in the clutch coast to about 10 kph the sling it in to second gear and bump start it, then run it in again for 10 or 15 clicks being nice and easy on it.

ok you do need to make sure that its getting oil though because if you not then that could be your problem, your sure that its using oil, ie if you fill the auto lube to the absolute max so you can see it in the tube it goes down right. when you rev it up quickly from an idle does it smoke a little. is the plug darkish in colour! if you answered yes and your sure that it is using oil are you sure the timing is correct, because i allways retard my timing a couple of degress , simply because i prefer a timing leaning towards top end rather than exceleration, because dont for get the factory marks are a very good place to set it up and ride it all day, but they are a compromise between the two, that why a lot of the more powerful bikes and cars have variable timing. so timing would be a good place to look and make sure you not to advanced.

you should listen to Rockets advise, he knows what he's talking about. After all he is known for being a real "advanced retard" when it comes to px motors...among other things.

What he said, but try putting some two stoke in you gas tank (it only hurts the environment to burn twice as much) while you ride around town and watch the oil in the autolube well go down.
