Hi Everyone I just thought I would post this because this year the Brits are coming to the High Rollers Scooter Rally in Vegas and it is going to be HUGE! It runs from Thurs Feb 22 to Monday Feb 26, 2007. Here is the link for the ever improving Itinerary: www.lvscooterrally.com/We already have our accomodations booked and are just hunting down flight deals now.....and MANY scooterists *they are saying from 1/3 to 1/2 will be staying at the Gold Coast Casino who is offering a deal to scooterists if you book by November. There is a link to the hotel on the Rally Itinerary page at the bottom, so check it out. The rate for Fri and Sat is $100 and Sunday is $55 - for this 3 star Casino (Dont forget to use the Group Code provided 'HIG0222" to get your discount if booking online or by phone.) The reviews I read on Trip Advisor weren't bad, and they are situated behind the strip not too far from Treausre Island area if you are familiar with Vegas. So far we have 5 Vancouverites planning right now.....and the more the merrier. We had a blast last year and cant wait for 2007. ;D

D&R, What kind of scoots are available? Very funny Dennis...and while YES, they do have those, they also have other scooters....but maybe they dont have the old man scooters any more since I recently heard there was a recall because they would jump into reverse at anytime for no reason and blow the old man/woman off. They did not have Vespa's last year (long story) but they do have a scooter that was designed for them particularly for rentals and basically it looks like a mini crotch-rocket but scooterized. They were also nice enough to adjust the speed control restrictor so they did pretty well for speed. I will see if I can find a pic of one we were riding, but they were decent machines and decent people. They didnt ask for a ridiculous down payment like some other rental places and gave you a tank of gas too. You coming B?

Hi Bruce Bruce I looked through the pics we had, and we didnt think of taking a pic of our scooters...but they looked a lot like this one The only rentals you will find are 50 cc....due to insurance reasons etc. so....how is your boss forcing you to go?

\ I guess the scooters for rent will be ok mine would be more fun but that isn't gonna happen Bruce Oh come on Bruce, its only a 24 hour drive. I'm sure the Jetta will make it. But if you were to talk Kathy into driving, then you could sleep all the way and still be there for morning.

I would love to but there is no way we can afford a $2000+ hit for a weekend Rally this time around.

how do you figure $2000?
I am going to pull out what we paid with Westjet last year and post it, but I am sure it was really cheap....and the hotel deal is pretty good too....

1100 for 2 tickets (edmonton-vegas-return) - i search a few airlines (westjet, aircanada, expedia, etc) 400 hotel (55 thursday 110 fri/sat 55 sun) american to boot 320 for 2 scoot rentals (american to boot) and of course add food and other misc things for the weekend.
as you can see it will be easily $2000+

That is pretty expensive for tix....last year we shopped for sales to Vegas with Westjet and ended up paying just over $400 return for the both of us incl. fees.
Even now without a sale, Westjet is offering $188 each way per person from Vanc or Calgary...and for some strange reason, Edmonton has to pay $238....did someone in Edm piss off Westjet or what? seems unfair to moi.
Anyways, if you find some extra cash in your xmas stocking this year, we hope you can make it.
;D
