Hi Folks - I have just returned to Cda from overseas and will be bringing my '69 Vespa 150 over ... I want to get a rear mount bag - they are available in the USA from Scooter West and from Scooter Works - they are both about 130.00 USD ... One is call - Sx Appeal Canvas Top Case (scooterwest) The Other - Saddle Bag, Vintage Style - Prima (scooter works) Does an body have any one of these bags - or past dealings with either of these companies - is there a Cdn equivalent or distributor? Thanks Jacques

The SX bags are only avail in the US as far as I know, but they have been on backorder for a while and I have even looked for a used one.....no luck, so I went with another option. I personally prefer the SX bag because the sides of the bag in my opinion are better. The side of the SX bag is more firm and can be pushed out from the inside to give you a few more inches of room when you need it (and then pushed back in) and there are square zippered pockets on the outside. The Prima bag looks a bit sloppier to me with the big round zipper at the sides and the sides are difficult to tuck in to look neat if that matters to you. Both are of similar and good quality. Topcat has the nice Roman Holiday bag which is again similar to the SX bag but they dont make those anymore, but you can find one on ebay once in a while, but be prepared to pay more moola for that one.
Both Vespa Vancouver and Empire Scooters have the Prima Rear Mount bags and the price at Empire was the same (about $130), and I didnt look at the price at Vespa Vancouver when I was there yesterday.....but you could call them.
I was told the other day from Scooters West that the bags are at least 3 weeks away on backorder.
If you are looking for a leather option, let me know and I will hook you up with a different option.
take care Delia
ps...where abouts do you live?

;D
Thanks !! I have been looking at the SX Bags instead of the Prima because they had a side pocket and looked better on the net - I'll be in Vcr this weekend and will go out to the shops to see the Prima bags anyway ,,,,
I e-mailed Scooter West - here is their reply - "We make these and are the only people that carry them. We sell to a few other dealers, but none that I can remember in Canada. We expect them back in stock in a few weeks".
I think I'll probably go with the SX - and the back order is no big deal as I live in Ottawa and my stuff won't arrive in Cda before the middle of Nov ,,,
The funny thing is I scooted all through Bangkok and Cambodia for the past 4 years - and I had to get an M-1 /M-2 license to ride the thing in Cda !! Took the Safety Cda Course which is great - but it still seemed insane - and of course the Prov. of Ont. would not accept my Thai motorcycle license ....
Again - thanks for the help ....

Yeah....the whole licensing thing is crap everywhere. My husband had to re-do his motorcycle test after moving to Canada because apparently riding around in Germany just isnt up to snuff here in Canada......good grief. In Italy, if you own a car, you can automatically ride anything smaller (at least in Northern Italy).....not so sure that is the way to go here in Canada either lol. Oh well....unless you want to be stuck on a 50cc...you gotta do it. I didnt think I would ever take the MC Course/Test, but it didnt take me long to change my mind ;D I am sure you will be happy with the SX bag....nice firm, neat, good quality and now comes with a rain cover too and the black is treated so not to fade quickly in the sunlight. If you are near Vancouver or the Fraser Valley, check out the other local Club at www.gvvr.org. We post rides and events in the Public section of our forum. take care Delia

I have a prima bag - and really like it. It is the same size as the one where the sides pop out - with the sides popped out. It mounted nicely on the back of my Px 150 and held enough gear for me and my ride to Amerivespa in Seattle this past summer. (Keeping in mind I am a girl and required more clothing and hair products than a guy would on a road trip - gotta look all dressy for the boys....) It had all the right attachments and strapped onto my flip down luggage rack without any issues. No movement and it kept everything warm.and dry.

Also - FYI I sent away to the Scooter Works for one of their catalogs - great investment !! (free) ... and lots of interesting stuff...
