This is probably a good place to lock the thread. Roy, you and Delia do great work and I appreciate it. I don't think anything else needs to be said here.

Beluga,
You are right about the Parthanon... my bad, just thinking about white marble columns.
As to the rest, of course you will be able to find exceptions to any generalization I am making. I simply feel that the Vespa specifically, though it did use spare parts and available tools to fill an urgent need, could have done so with strict utilitarian visuals too, like the Honda Ruckus, for example. But they did not. They said "we are making this thing...we may as well make it look nice too". And that was what made it different from a Cushman, which was clunky and strange-looking. It was because people felt and looked cool on them that they became a phenomenon. And that is due largely to the cultural heritage that is rich in that part of the world.
over and out.

I think that would be a good idea! I think it is time to move on. In case you feel that this is intervening with your constitutional right of freedom of speech....just open a new thread On the other hand....I would like to see phantombeluga and bluebeetle continue their discussion....nice! Cheers. Roy. PS: As you may or may not know, Bruce decided that he will be stepping down as VCoO president (before this all started) and I know Ron would generally not have a problem doing this, but he is way too busy these days. Soooo if there is a VCoC member in the Okanagan who wants to actively moderate this forum....please talk to Ron or let me know.
