Camping is encouraged. Registration is encouraged. The feeding of bears is encouraged. But fireworks and their spawn, forest fires, are discouraged. While we love a good wild fire as much as anyone, when the local media gets a hold of such a story they just beat us residents over head with it for years. I know I'm preaching to the choir here...

The camping will be awesome. Don't forget cheap beers too! Cheap bottled beers! No keg burps! We only ask that you take care of the bottles so they may be returned intact. No feeding beer bottles to bears!

I will bring my tent!
And I say it for the record: I am one of only a few ASC members that does NOT encourage the use of fireworks....I will be sure to give a mom talk before we hit the road about not bring those firestarters to your dry hot lovely land....
We have an ASC rally meeting tonight and will let you know some numbers of who all is coming.

Much appreciated!
Don't let the lack of fireworks discourage any possible attendees, we will make up for in other areas.

Looks like a healthy, hungry and thirsty group of about ten will be coming out.
A few have opted to stay at a camping site with facilities. The rest on the rally site.

Facilities? We have a pool, a honey bucket, an on-site hillclimb and cheap beer... what are we missing? And who are these princesses? We will make a list.

guilty! I'm a princess but not nearly as much as my BF as he is just not coming!
Noel and Ally have the kids so they have a ligitimate excuse.
Pool! isn't it more like a large puddle? no Chlorine?
I like showers...not the ones Kevin likes...so I'll just sneak to Noel and Ally's site to bathe.

Well, my mind's changed. Alternate campgrounds are a brilliant idea. Man, you Cowpokes think of everything. Pool! isn't it more like a large puddle? no Chlorine? Nah nah, it's a fully treated, mega litre aquatic centre. By event's end it will no doubt be more like a tailings pond. I expect that the chemicals will be fighting this end and they will be overpowered. I'm quite excited, the pictures on the box the pool came in promise, once set-up properly, the arrival of amazon women and young boys. Talk about a rally pack!

It seems there's some sort of foot race or something going on downtown on Saturday which essentially eats up the block surrounding Vespa Kelowna. Here's a link showing the maps tinyurl.com/2o6rgbBest bet, to make breakie at Vespa on Saturday, is to head north on Ellis or west on Cawston 'till you hit the course then turn on the charm to convince the triathlon volunteers to let you through. Or park there and walk the half a block.
